As an increasing number of jurisdictions in the United States as well as globally are legalizing cannabis for medicinal and recreational use, investment opportunities in this sector continue to grow at a rapid pace.  The past few years have witnessed significant capital investment in the cultivation sector of the industry as licensed growers required large amounts of funding to accelerate the expansion of their cultivation operations.  As the industry grows and matures, it is expected that cannabis would become commoditized as other agricultural products and significant consolidation may take place in the industry.

Though investors have made lucrative returns on many of the public cannabis companies, the projected profits of most of these companies still need to be realized and this may become increasingly difficult as more competition and technological change enter the sector.  Sophisticated investors in the industry are now looking towards other segments such as extraction services, formulation and delivery technologies and nutraceutical and pharmaceutical product development.

Kahner Global would like to invite you to luncheon hosted at the offices of Dorsey  and Whitney LLP for an overview of some of the key developments in the industry and the impacts they will have for existing and new cannabis investors.  Our guest speaker will be Rehan Huda, Chief Executive Officer of Green Sky Labs Inc., a ground breaking research and development firm in the cannabis industry with offices across Canada and operations that will be commencing in the United States and Europe.  Mr. Huda has been a keynote speaker at a number of Kahner Global events and is a leading expert on the technological trends in the cannabis industry.  Prior to joining Green Sky Labs, Mr. Huda worked in structuring technology related investment banking transactions for the Canadian and US capital markets and was a senior economist for the Canadian federal government.
